What's new?

The Programme format for the Annual Systems Engineering Conference has evolved this year, including:

  • A dual stream of a total of twelve 30-minute paper presentations across both days of the conference.
  • Four panel sessions
  • Two tutorials
  • Day 1 will now have an adjacent stream of Advanced papers. These will have a specific focus on advanced papers for individuals who are established within the Systems Engineering industry.
  • A new block has been added on Day 1, consisting of a series of 10-minute advanced presentations and concludes with a panel made up of the advanced presentation speakers.
  • The Early Careers Forum (ECF) Session has been extended and will begin before the lunch break on Day 1.
  • There will be a dedicated Diversity and Inclusion themed session taking place on the morning of Day 2. The theme is "Inclusive By Design: No Users Left Behind".
  • In the morning of Day 2 there will be a Invited Content session.
  • Day 2 will include a new block of 10-minute presentations targeting early careers systems engineers or students followed by a panel of all the speakers in this session.
  • Day 2 concludes with a panel of ASEC 2026 speakers. This is an opportunity for delegates to ask questions which they haven’t had the opportunity to ask during the conference.

Each presentation will be characterised in two dimensions, indicating the content and target audience. Accessibility indicates the level of knowledge required by the delegates to fully understand the paper and gain the maximum benefit of its content. The two levels are:

Introductory Aimed at people who are new to the topic or looking to increase their knowledge in the area.
In Depth Aimed at people with extensive experience, looking to hone their skills and knowledge in the area.

Application is broken down into two levels which are:

Research and Innovation New ideas that have been carried out as part of a research and innovation project.
Practice Examples of Systems Engineering practice applied in real world projects, showing real results, that may demonstrate novel practice or recognised good practice.
